Upset Prevention and Recovery Training in Spanish Fork, Utah

Full Deflection offers in-aircraft upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) at Spanish Fork Airport (KSPK). Practice recognizing an upset early and recovering from unfamiliar attitudes with a flight instructor.

Who can enroll

We generally recommend that students have soloed before taking UPRT. You’ll sit in the front seat, where familiarity with the mixture controls and radios helps you get more out of training. If you haven’t soloed yet, get in touch so we can discuss whether the course is a good fit.

What to expect

A typical course includes 3 to 4 hours of ground instruction and 4 to 5 hours of flight time. Contact us for a quote and to discuss scheduling.

Before each flight, we typically do an in-depth ground briefing on the concepts, techniques, and exercises you’ll practice. You’ll then fly the exercises we briefed. Afterward, we debrief what went well, what needs work, what you learned, and what to expect on the next flight.

We use our Super Decathlon 8KCAB for upset recovery and spin training. The Pitts S2B is used for advanced upset recovery, spins, and aerobatics. Founder Kendra Hart is an airline transport pilot and Gold Seal flight instructor with experience teaching upset recovery, spins, and aerobatics.
